On the Buses
We aim to encourage and support the use of public transport to access walks. For Long and Medium Length Walks it is usually safer to get the bus out from where you are and walk back. That way, if a bus lets you down you aren’t stuck in the middle of nowhere. For short walks, this is not so crucial.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date at the time of publication. However, paths, access, and conditions may change over time due to weather, maintenance, or other factors beyond the control of the author or publisher. Walkers follow these routes entirely at their own risk. Walkers are advised to take appropriate care, use suitable clothing and equipment, and check current conditions before setting out.

Short walks
A series of bus walks that are less than five miles long. Inevitably, they are often versions of longer routes.

Five to nine
We have eleven Bus Walks between 5 and 9 miles long. We have 5 walks using the frequent T1 bus, 4 using the 60 route, 1 using the 62 to Berkeley and 1 where you need to book a West link minibus to Cribbs Causeway.

Links to the Forest of Horwood
These eight walks vary from 10 to 15 miles in length and take us back in time to explore the Royal Forest of Horwood and Alveston, which was disafforested in 1228.
