Our Story
As a Walkers are Welcome Town, we strive to make paths accessible for runners, walkers and wheelers. We do this by inspecting paths so they are kept clear, by clearing vegetation with the consent of land owners and reporting bigger problems to the Highway Authority. We encourage people to use paths by waymarking them and by making them known through this website and leaflets. We work with partners to create events and to lead people out into the countryside.
We work to clear paths
Report blocked paths to us or cut out the middleman and go straight to South Glos Public Rights of Way Team. There is a succinct Parish Council Guide about the rights and duties of landowners, South Glos and the Town Council.
We find walking routes

We work with partners
For example, there are at least a dozen Walking Groups operating in Thornbury, one of which may be just what you’re looking for. But there are Other Groups that support walking in Thornbury.
