I am gradually finding may around this site, which is ironic, because one of the purposes of this site is to help people to find their way around Thornbury, especially “the filament reminder of the wildwood and its glades.”
The idea comes from Nicholas Crane, who you may have seem striding about the countryside on the tellie with a red umbrella tucked in his back pack. In “The Making of the British Landscape,” he reminds us that we can still access what remains of the natural world via “the slow green web: the leafy pavements and public parks, canals and towpaths, the National Parks and Reserves [and] the 140,000 miles of Public rights of way in England.”
When I get the hang of this site, I will be able to share some aspects of the wildwood with you.
